I'm thinking i payed about 800.00 to have mine done in Talahassee fl.
It does look really good! I still haven't decided what to do with my '52. Chrome looks great but I had a bid of $1,100 and I just don't know if I want to spend that much on the grill that I could spend elsewhere on the truck.
You got me laughing....That would be a real "Blackneck" move on my part!. I am so over budget on this darn truck.... My old lady said...just finish it... OK dear....green light....LOL
if you don't run 1000s of dollars and years over your not doing it right
Let's just say I am in year 3 of this build and I am amazed at what I have spent. The cool part is I wake up each morning on fire about building this truck.
Hey Isaiah,
As you get closer to the finish line - the paint/finish phase out is outrageously expensive. A nice paint & prep is $7K to $10K - honestly not worth it as the most fun comes from just driving it.
I like the approach "chuckrob" is taking - doing it himself through a class
at the local community college using their equipment & expertise.
If you get it looking too nice then you will sweat every ding, dent or paint chip. I intentionally told the guys just leave it - don't get it perfect - it's 60 years old it earned those dents.
Good luck over there! What does your truck look like now?

Ben I am doing the work in my home garage which I converted to paint booth with framing, heavy duty plastic for ceiling and sides along with box fans. I got a guy who works for Hot Rod Ranch teaching me in the evening when we both get off of work. 3 or 4 hours a night and about 5 to 6 on Saturdays. Well worth the time and money. I get to decide on each portion of the truck. Just put the cab in primer... I will take better pics this weekend. I put my 65 fastback in my enclosed trailer so I have plenty of room to make this happen. I also got the experience of buying the products and learning how they work. Here is a link to the current status of my truck.
