anyone here install a leveling kit on their 09/10 pickup?? good....bad...did it change your milage very much???
will i have to change my camber??
or i was thinking of the timken air bolsters that go inside the coil spring....you fill them with air...i have used those in the past with good luck and so have several other truck owners i know...they used them for a plow setup...
i think the one i have heard of is the daystar kit....don't know if that is the right manufactuer or not...
Lots of us use the autospring kit. It is about $80 and well built. Most of your lost mileage will come from the big tires that follow. The only alignment change will be toe, not camber or caster. When you lift the truck the front tires will point in, so just have them point them out a little. I think it cost me $25 for the alignment tweak.
As for the air bags, I don't think they will work. These trucks use a coilover/strut front end. I think those bags only fit inside a coil with a seperate shock.
My truck is more level than I expected. I think that I'll wait for Bilstein to put out their shocks with the adjustable clips (don't remember model #) and raise my front with them.
hey dude the Auto spring is a great product. Its Cheap and the directions are easy to use. i got the 2.5 kit beacuse of the guy in the first reply. Just waiting on my income tax for my 35 toyo's.
anyone use the Rancho coilover kit? I saw they installed it in a 4 wheel magazine not long ago, but the article was short, had no follow up and the pictures sucked.
stephen, hi man,
went to the rancho site to check out what your talking about, are you talking about their little shock thing. it looks like from the vid they have on there thier shock replaces the stock shock in the shrunt and add some front lift for bigger tires. If i correct Im not sure id get it. cant find a price but id bet its pretty steep price for some shocks when the stock ones work pretty good. But when it comes down to it spacers over the sturnt type or this, cause im cheap i wouldnt even look at those. but its nice to know someone else has a 6in lift rdy for our truck models. That makes pro comp, skyjacker which has to cut frame to go on, and now rancho just trying to find price and see if it requires cutting to go on.
I asked about the Rancho kit while at the 4 wheel parts store the other day. He called me back and said about 400 for the front. It reuses the stock coil, but is suppossed to lower the lower control arm so the ball joints don't wear out as quickly. Still undecided myself as to which brand/how much lift. Definately won't do pro comp, but that is an entirely different story.

Truck looks great just pick my Candy Red XLT up Saturday where did you get your Auto Spring kit, and do you think 33'' would look to small
just wondering how the tuff country 2" kit's are the local les schwab uses this kit to get it level and wanted to make sure it's good before I spent 186
rcherry11, The AS kits Ebay. Just go to ebay motors and search auto spring. Dont waste your Cash on Tuff Country. Most companies now a days use the same manufacturing steps just usually depends on the sticker or stamp on the product. Shoot pro comp actually buys there leveling kit from ready lift but charges less than ready lift. Far as 33 looking to small i would say yes. Just muy 2cent. Lucky for me Marines Waste money on all types of things and there a guy on base with and xlt with 33's on 17's with no kind of lift at all. which is why im going with the 35's on my stock ford 20's . 2 wks and ill have my income back once i get it ill post pics. Got some other things to pay off but i might end up with the sky jacker 6 inch lift. Any ways i hope ive helped as ive wondered a bit off topic i think.
rcherry,
I have 325/60/18's on mine with a 2.5" leveling kit. Tires are 32.99" tall. I don't think they look to small personally (pics in gallery) but I did like the look of the 305/65/18 BFG's I had on my 2004 a little better (pics in gallery as well). The BFG was like .75" or so taller and it did look a little fuller in the wheel well area. I did have to do some trimming on the black plastic in the wheel well on my 2004 because of rubbing.
I have done a little offroading with my 2009 and get rubbing while in certain postions with the 325s.
Just put on my AS 2" leveling kit and now the front is 1/2" taller then the back it don't look bad but now I know and it will bug. What to do now? Put another block in or does someone have a suggestion
