(Actually I have no idea whatsoever what he's talking about.)
So my suggestion, go to a part store. Tell them you need manual locking hubs for an '88 F-250. Not a big deal if its a replacement hub. They arn't really bad hubs, just like anything they need some use once in awhile to stay fresh.
Lol my bad. I ment to put my new hubs in would I have to take the insides of say a 90 250 4x4 then put my warrens on? Im havin my buddys shop put them in I just wana make shur I have everything ready before I take it there. Thanks
But there's nothing really wrong with stock hubs. I've been running the same stock hubs.. well.. forever really.
Hubs on it are the ones that came with the truck, and I wheel the **** out of my F-350. I've done axle work, so it gets good greese once in awhile, but I mean.. I can't see anything breaking if you put stock hubs on it to replace it.
Ha well I just dont know what to do then!
I guess I can go price some stock hubs ?
You think they have any colors but pink ha...Just doesent go great with the truck haha.
On the 87 and some 88 trucks with the flange type there are no after market hubs. the flange type means that the hub assembly is not pressed into your rotor. here are some pictures of a flange type
it is one solid piece. to replace any part you have to buy the whole assembly which is priced to me at 350 a side is what the ford dealer said. the bearings inside my hub are what went bad for me. ba248z is the part number search the forums and you'll find some threads on it. i found the bearings on an online store for 4.92 a side so i went with them. i hope that i have been helpful. good luck
If you need them, you can't really argue with the price. I'd look around a little more though. I think that they are better being part of the rotor.
Seems just a bit more durable. I just encountered my first flange hub or whatever last night. Changing a buddies tire the hub came off. I thought I had broke it at first. Haha.
Well this design is unique to 87 trucks and there are no after market hubs for it but i found what i needed online. I agree that being part of the rotor is better, the flange type is a poor design in my opinion but i love my truck and this is what it has so i just have to deal with it. and you'll never believe i took those pictures with my cell phone.
"Your shifter could be loose. There are two little bolts on it and make sure they're snugged up. You might even have to pull the bolts out and clean out the area where the shifter bolts on."
I tryd that but them bolts/screws where so dirty I cant even tell what they are to get them out.
