no a buddy of mine did. it took him a few hours. i can take measurements if u want its a pretty simple design.
Took him a few hours,,, I hate those guys! Takes me an hour just to get her Lexi out of the garage, the truck in, welder/torch and assoc. items out and ready to go! Just a side note, if'n you guys build a house, DON'T think for whatever insane reason, that an OVERSIZED 3 car garage will be enough room!!!! It's not!
Hopefully buying a storage container next week,,,, should probly just get a dumpster while she is gone?!!! hmmm..
Actually, it is a 1982 Ford Cabover truck with a 20' box and liftgate,,,
I designed and made my custom winch bumper to hold my Warn 12,000
I have a body lift and I cut and flipped the bottom section of rad support to be able to mount my winch on a piece of 4x4x3/8 angle that ties in across the frame rails.
It kinda looks like hell in this pic as the months it sat it got some surface rust. Its all new 3/16 plate steel though. I sent it to the powder coaters last week to get sand blasted and matte black(very low gloss flat black)
The fairllead actually bolts through the backside as it has tabs to mount to so the fairlead is actually reccesed in and only sticks out a couple inches vs the whole thing for a cleaner look. The whole bumper has to come off to make room to do it though as the winch is in the way to do it now..
HAHA thanks.. I've had a few people ask me the same thing and a couple random guys that came by just to talk trucks and check stuff out, took some pics and want me to build them one.
It sure would be easy to make another copy though as I would measure all the pieces and have them all sheared instead of each and every individual section torch cut then the edge ground smooth. Also I made the front one out of cardboard and a hot glue gun first to see if I liked the design and tweaked it a little. The rear was pretty straight forward and I just went at her.
These aren't your ordinary everyday bumpers though I built them to incorporate being able to upright my truck back on all 4's in the event of a roll over.
