Just make one out a piece of .250'' flat steel and use original band clamp.

Remove the passenger tire and wheel well liner, if you want remove the down pipe. Find the pipe mounting bolts at both ends and the clamp that connects to the EGR cooler. Extensions are VERY helpful so enlist a friend to help. Remove the 4 mount bolts and the clamp.

Mine is a 2003

Nah, he is a long time friend, and he wouldn't charge me more or get a worse product. There are some things his cost is more than elsewhere and I go elsewhere. He sells sled and dirt bike/quad parts as well.

Regardless, still no answer on why my kit and the ED kit does not have a block off plate. I am amazed with the number of people on here that no one has installed one of these or has the answer.

Why spend that kind of money when you can make your own? I know the vendors are spending the R&D time to get a good product out but when their cost outweighs my allowance you got to do what you got to do.

Yeah, I am tarded, so no way I am doing it. lol I would rather pay $35 for someone to do it for me.

But I am more trying to find out if that is right. I might not need one. I have read that if you unplug the EGR while the truck is off, it will leave the valve close and never open. But there is tons of info and not sure which applies to what year of truck.

OK, I have my up pipe off. If my egr cooler was bad would'nt there be antifreeze comeing out of the cooler?

Not necessiarliy, depending on the leak. Could have a pin hole that only leaks when hot and under pressure.
