Okay, I bought the EGR delete kit in the pictures below. It did not come with a block off plate. Does anyone know if I need one? I have a 2006 that is otherwise stock. I am doing a 4 inch exhaust and programmer in a few weeks.
Are you refering to go in place of the original valve OR on the underside of the intake where the cooler bolts up? Give some more detail.
Okay, keep in mind, I am kind of tarded. I have never done this. So, in the pictures is everything that comes with the kit I bought. From what I understand, the original pipe allows the exhaust to go through the cooler. If I take that pipe off and replace with this pipe, wouldn't there be the pipe to the EGR cooler that would be exposed?
Or am I completely tarded?
Like the kits from Elite Diesel: http://www.elitedieseleng.com/engine60egr.htm
The second from the bottom includes a block off plate. The bottom one which is similar to my kit, does not have a block off plate. I just want to make sure that is right before the project is started.

Reason: added info
Ok you didnt get the full delete, just a new up-pipe. Are you planning to remove the cooler?
Yeah he's leaving the cooler in place. Just putting a new uppipe in so the end of the cooler will be exposed. I'm thinking he might need to put a plate on the end where the cooler use to connect to the uppipe. Is that what anybody else has done that did a delete this way?
You are missing the part that clamps/bolts on to the rear of the EGR cooler. Otherwise the backside of the EGR cooler will be open (HINT: NOT GOOD) Who's kit did you buy?

I am not sure whose kit it is. My buddy sells diesel parts, so he just got what his wholesaler supplies. He won't let me buy parts without going to him first. haha.
The weird thing is, when you look at the Elite Diesel kits, the top one, the full delete, has a couple block of plates. The middle one, the sneaky pipe, mentions it has a block off plate. The bottom one, which is almost the same kit as mine does not have a block of plate mentioned. So, while logicially, thinking about how this process works, the EGR cooler would be open and a bad idea. But I wonder why my kit doesn't have it, and neither does the ED kit.

Your "buddy" needs an extra word added to the end. Take it back so you can get the block off plate or get a refund.
Depending on the model year the scoop may or may not be there in the pipe.
Remove the passenger tire and wheel well liner, if you want remove the down pipe. Find the pipe mounting bolts at both ends and the clamp that connects to the EGR cooler. Extensions are VERY helpful so enlist a friend to help. Remove the 4 mount bolts and the clamp.
Well what I don't get is my kit has the exact same parts as the Elite Diesel kit. I have heard nothing but good things about them, so I can't imagine it is wrong. Has anyone installed that kit or done the EGR delete with a similar kit?

Just curious as to what the word would be after buddy. Usually you hear "good buddy" but for the life of me I can't think of a word that comes after buddy.
Hey Kris just order a block off plate to go on the back of that and you'll be good to go.

Yeah, I will call the guys at Elite tomorrow and see what they have. They can probably send it quickly.
