help!!! I Have front axle issues!

Ok so I have some slight chirping type noises when i give my truck some gas. It is coming from my driverside front axle. Also I noticed that it looks like my axle/u joint is not totaly connect at one of the points.. So do i need to replace the axle? i will get a picof it tomorrow when it is light. Any i deas would be great. thanks. by the way it is a 79 f150.

sounds like a bad u joint to me

What do you mean by not totally connected?
But if you can see a u-joint is bad, change that before you think of anything else..

Picture would be helpful.

Sounds like a bad U joint to me as well.

Are you missing one of the caps of the u-joint? If you are im guesing your shaft is going to need to be replaced also.

well i was going to post a pic of it but i messed up my back so maybe i can get a pic of it tomorrow.

I'm not so sure on that. When I got my F-350, my caps were missing. I installed new U-Joints with little trouble and it works fine.
Although removing the old ones were trouble. I used the press and had to tap the axle with a hammer to get them to break free lol.
