Yes, I installed smoked clearance lights on my Ex. Its a pretty simple and cheap installation and makes the Ex look really good. It's hard to tell from this picture, so I'll try to post another one soon.

It's not difficult, you just need to drop the front of the headliner, sun visors, and remove the overhead console (a few screws and plugs). Mark where the holes are going on the roof and drill holes just enough to put the wires through. My wiring was pretty easy, just spliced between each light. I tapped into the overhead console to get power based on the ignition.

Good luck. Let me know if I can help.

Here's the website a lot of guys use as a guide.

Motoman's Madness

Even though the install is on an F250, it's still relevant and helpful for installation on the Excursion.

Dragging up an old thread so I don't start a new one...

I realize it's easy to wireup a new harness for the roof marker lights, but does anyone know the actual part number for the F250, W/ Roof Console wiring harness?

I know that Ford did not take wire up thorugh the Excursion harness pass the passenger side kick panel. I've found where it was omitted. I know that the F250 had an option for trip computer and roof console, with roof marker lights.

If I could get the part number for that harness, it's a plug-in-play addition once the lights are mounted with no splicing.

Just looking for the cleanest option.

Well, you can try *C34-14334-*. the first * should be model year of vehicle (may be superseded by a newer MY number), the suffix is the important part. Im trying to find it in the system but a lot of that data is archived, and not well, in the system I have at hand. Your best bet may be to call a dealership, a good one, and see if they will give you the part number. I'll keep trying to find it.

If the info from the body shop I use is correct Ford has discontinued the harness.....but I did find plenty on ebay......IIRC it cost about $160 with the lights.
