VIN decoder incorrect ???

VIN decoder incorrect ???
I'm looking at a 1976 F350 crewcab and I've run into an interesting diffrerance of information. The truck is legally registered in Canada as a 76 but when I run the VIN through FTE's decoder it comes back as being built in Ontario Canada in September 75. The VIN is F35JCA26504. Any of you pro's out there; like NumberDummy; explain this differance to me

Ditto, and legally they can call something the next year's model after Jan 1st. This came up when everyone was trying to decide who would have the first "2000" year model vehicle. We (I was in the buisness back then) all figured someone would come out with a "new 2000 model ......." sometime in january, but if memory serves right it didn't happen till springtime.
