You're going to need to have an early 99 with an auto. If you do, then look at the PCM. It should be XLE-*. I'm not sure if you could use the chip if you have an XLE-8 or not -- Cody's saying it must match exactly, and I'm sure he's right.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Joe.
If it IS a 2-bank chip then this chip on an "XLE8" will not work.
As far as XLE- codes go, an XLE4 for sure and possibly an XLE5 only.
LOL..... I might want to bend your ear a bit later. I think I'm about to pull the trigger on a kit to do my own tuning. IIRC, you're doing your own, right?
They told me that the chip will only work in a truck that is EXACTLY like mine, same PCM code. That means an early 99, auto. She initially told me that whoever took it would have to send it in for a reburn, even if the truck was the same...but then she said "we burn a chip specifically for a PCM, and its usually a code that consists of three letters and a number".
She still tried to tell me that every single computer in each individual truck will have a different code. I told her differently, but alas, they are a business and they are into making money.
SO, if anyone has an XLE4 PCM, it will work, plug and play.
However, she DID also say that they can reburn the chip to work in a manual truck. A truck of the same year, the reburn fee is $50.
So you two contestants, I need to know what the code is on your PCM. Spunks, are you willing to pay $50 to send the chip in to have it reburned for your manual?
I've had 2 Max chips is 2 seperate OBS trucks and they are definitely PCM specific. The second chip was accidently ordered with the wrong pcm code and it no worky. Had to overnight it back to be reburned. However, that specific chip was purchased by a friend of ours with the same pcm code and it's been in his truck for about 5 years now with NO problems.
