64 f250 cummins swap
I am trying to get some stuff done before I settle down but it's just not happening at this point. Very frustrating, especially when I notice that my "free" time to work on things is getting less and less.
As for the saw horses - they would probably hold the body if they are sturdy ones.
In the past I've made a couple stands for different projects and then I use pipe stands similar to the ones in the pic below as well.
I was thinking some horses that the upper tube would sit inside the rocker on either side from front to back. Then I could get to the underside of the floor as well.
The mustang is leaving tomorrow! Now I will have two bays to devote to the truck.I will actually be able to have all the body panels out to work on them!

I've got 2 of the stands like above that I took the upper "Y" portion out of and the sit under the front body mounts like in the pic below. The rear just sits on the tires as the axle, etc. is still in it back there. Works well and I can get to everything.
nice! Hope to get it back up on at least some jack stands tomorrow night.
Sisters stinking minivan is broken down again and I need to get to it for her.
Mustang not gone yet! The guy buying it is not getting in any hurry. But I did dig the fenders and inner fenders out 2nite.They are in better shape than I remembered.Actually they are VERY nice.

Well I got the cab up on stands and got the drivers side lower pillar completly cut out to remove all the rust. Also drivers cab corner.I am going to brace what I have done back up and take it to the dipper.I just dont see going any further until it is cleaner. It will be impossible to weld properly.
Last night after work I got some time to tinker with the radiator support.
I needed as much room as I could get to accomodate the electric fans.
So the nice non rusty new radiator support met the plasma cutter. All the factory radiator mounting is shaved completly off.I would have to say that it made a huge difference.Only one other problem now.The intercooler pipes are needing to run directly through the shocks! Too bad I cant turn the IC over upside down.Next need to build rad and IC mounts.
Still need to get cab taken to the stripper tank.

I have the radiator and ic from a 97 dodge.YEA it is wide.I am going to have to heavily modify the inner fenders as well.I will snap some pics and post them up.Also got the cab braced up and finished cutting the old rusty cab corners out and got some friends over and got it on the trailer to go get dipped!
Next i will need to figure out trans cooler weather to put in front of ic or to put under the bed with a thermostatic controlled fan on it?(i like the later better)

Will do soon.kinda waiting until I get rad support, rad,IC worked out.
Also was thumbing through summit and found a hayden engine oil cooler w -8 fittings and integral fan that I think will do the trick to cool the big ol allison. It has -8 fittings already from factory.
Waiting on cab to get back from redi strip.

Are you considering it a score due to the really tall gear ratio??? I've got a buddy with a d61 rear in his 76 and he's had some pretty good problems finding brake parts (drums and shows mainly) for the thing. All the more reason to swap over to disk if you hadn't planned on it.
