64 f250 cummins swap

Well.. just noticed this part of this site.
I have started to do a 1964 f250 2wd swap.
I bought a 1997 6b cummins and an Allison at545 4spd auto from a fed ex delivery van.

I have the front end and cab off and have had it mocked up.This combo is LONG.
The rear u-joint is farther back than the carrier bearing mount!

I will post some pics if anyone want to see.

Thanks,Aaron

yeah photobucket is easiest. Go to photobucket.com and set up an account. Start uploading your pics in there (it's been a LONG time - but I think I have mine set to bring my photos in at the "large" size) and then link to here.

just sent pics. Thanks for posting them!

I have been working on it the last couple of evenings.

The motor mount stands are almost done.I have the oil pan, pick up,gasket to swap from front sump to rear sump.

I am going to pull engine back out next, finish up gusseting the mounts, swap oil pan and see how many leaf springs I have to add up front to get it back up to ride heigth.

then build a new crossmember for between rear spring mounts.

Hopefully mon night The cab will be ready for the first trial fit.God help me!

I have to hear it run by Christmas. That would be a good present to myself.

Motor mounts are completed and gusseted front mount.Swapped oil pan and pickup for rear sump setup. It fits nice now.

Cut out massive amounts of the fire wall and floor and cab mounts to get it set on but it is on.
Now I have to order the new unrusted cab mount versions from lmc,do the sheetmetal work and set the engine permanently.
I will post pics later.

Looks good.

I thought the 67 trucks were the 1st year of the "bumpside" body style though?

Am I confused or is this not a 66 body style? Did that body style run into mid 67????

I don't know where I got 67 - maybe his user name. I could have SWORN the title on this thread said 67 yesterday but now it says 64. Maybe I am just seeing things because in his 1st post he calls it a 64.

No matter what - it's a cool swap.

My usermane is because of my 67 mercury cyclone GT.

This is a 64.I had a 65 for 5 years and always wanted a straight axle truck.
We went 16 hrs to bring the 400$ gal home.
I started tearing the cab down tonight for some needed sand blasting on cab and doors. It needs some cab mounts anyway especially since the meeting with the sawzall. But the rust is the main culprit. Some reengineering will be needed along with floor replacement.

Original window gaskets are a total pain to cut out and not break the glass.so far so good.and all carlite still.

I will post more pics soon.
thanks for looking.
