Am I confused or is this not a 66 body style? Did that body style run into mid 67????

ford made this body style from 61-66...

then 67 they made the bump side...

61-66 are called slicks...

I know this is a technical question way beyond my pay grade (or at least experience level) but won't that 6b twist the un-boxed frame rails into pretzel sticks?

I'd guss NOPE.

Hard to tell from this pic - but this is the 91 Dodge I grabbed my cummins out of and the frame wasn't boxed on it from the factory...

That is a good question.I believe that with the automatic the "hit" from the torque will be greatly sofened/And I will be driving it and maintaining it and keep an eye out for cracks. It will mainly be my back and fourth from work vehicle and have a fairly shelterd life I hope.I think I am going to leave the engine mostly stock.for now anyway.

Hopefully the sandblaster will be done with the cab soon so I can get back on the project.
I did get the powdered wheels back and tires mounted and balanced.
They are on it now with some nice new chrome lug nuts!

Well... I got the inter cooler, radiator and inlet/outlet and air filter plumbing yesterday.Doors have been sandblasted and hopefully the cab will get done sometime this decade.

The doors were absolutley rust free!

I have been too bust lately to work on this but am clearing out some other projects and am getting back on track.

I traded a friend of mine the fedex van radiator and intercooler for his dodge truck rad. and intercooler.Mine will fit his 38 gmc coe better and the dodge truck will be much easier modified to fit my application.More pics of progress will follow!

I need some opinions.
I have the 6b in the frane and the cab cut out to fit the setback required to fit this beast in.However this thing is going to be really tight and not too practical to work on. I have a chance to trade the 6b out for a 4bt and 5sp.I would be taking several steps back but adding a stick with od.I think the 4b with no intercooler and much smaller package and more compact.I am not sure if I would be towing as much as I previously thought. Also I think the little 4 would do the amount of towing I will be doing so long as I am cautious.
The main thing I think some pretty descent mileage is possible.

We have a large box van with a 4b that weights way more than my truck.

It drives just fine even though one might predict it underpowered.

Keep the 6bt. That's just me though.

While it is tight the 6bt can fit - even with an intercooler. It has been done many times before without messing with the firewall or adding a body lift even.

I do have it in.The firewall is cut and the engine is 1 and 1/2 cylinders in the cab already and am not sure if there is room for the fan.need to get the cab back on the frame. We will see soon hopefully!
Thanks for your take on this!
