I have a Superchips flashpaq tuner it helps the 4.6 run alot peppier. I know lots of people like the Edge but, I didnt want to remove the housing everytime I took it to the dealer.
All of the current tuners on the market control and change the electronic throttle on these trucks. There is no throttle cable and Ford uses alot of torque management to make off the line performance smooth. These tuners redue that lag and really firm up the transmission line pressures. They claim that by increasing shift firmness they are deacreasing clutch wear I am not sure I believe that.
long story short, the tuners help the midrange too and alow the trans to hold a gear all the way to redline. Full throttle shifts are almost violant. i do not run a tune 100% of the time because the throttle is so jumpy at parking lot speeds i get tired of it. And I get better mileage with the stock tune than the Mileage XS tune.
Good luck. The flashpaq is a bit cheaper than the edge. but, lacks the gauges and info of the Edge EVO.

The usual 3: CAI, Exhaust, Tuner.
CAI: People on this forum don't really have a favorite, some people go K&N some people go Volant. I have a K&N setup, it's sufficient and super easy to setup, then again so are the others.
Exhaust: I use a Magnaflow setup that I really like but I haven't had the others. I have heard good things about other systems. If I had a lot of money to burn I would get a Corsa because they sound sick but they are really expensive.
Tuners: This seems to be the Edge Evolution forum. A lot of guys on here have it and I have read nothing but positive reviews. I have come close to buying it but have yet to take the plunge. Search "Edge Evolution" to get more information.

This is the same I run In my Ford and in my opinion the best for the money. Now If I only could figure out where the rubber has gone from my back tires????
