Easy Entry mode

Easy Entry mode
For some reason my "easy entry" mode isn't functioning correctly. Once before this happened and I just went back in to the mode settings and turned it "off" and back "on" although it indicated it was already on and it started working again. Now it's doing the same thing and I can't seem to recover it although I can hit the seat setting button and it will adjust to either position "1" or "2". Anyone have any ideas? I know it's under warranty but what a pain if it's merely something I'm overlooking which I can't imagine.

When you say it's not functioning correctly, what is it doing exactly?
The reason I ask is this happened on my Denali. I thought it wasn't working right because it constantly adjusted the seat up all the way into my wife's setting. We finally realized that the memory function on it was specific to each key chain fob. For instance, when I had my keys in the ignition, I set my memory settings and removed the key and then did the same with hers. Now, when I hit the unlock button on my remote, the driver's seat automatically goes into "my" position and when she uses hers, it goes into "her" position. We have it set up where hers is the number 1 setting since it's her daily driver and the number 2 position is mine.
Just a thought. I know that yours is a Ford and mine is a GMC but I have also found this on other makes and models as well. Hope it helps.

Well, don't know what I did, but it's working again. Just an occasional gremlin once every so many months. (What it started doing was not adjusting the seat at all...just would stay stationary from the position it was left in instead of sliding back for entry and then sliding forward after the key was inserted and to my driver settings).

I had one occurrence where mine didn't go into the right place but overall no problems. I think it was because I shifted into reverse before the seat was done moving. I just turned easy entry off a few weeks ago because i have no problem getting in and out where the seat normally stays. Don't want the seat motor to be worn out when the warranty is up, that would be my luck.

Ford's Easy Entry function is not linked to key fobs. It's either on or off.
I'd say it's likely you've seen the beginning of an electronics issue. Electronic components are well known for something known as "infant mortality". That is if they are going to fail, they tend to do it in the first 90 or so days. Most electronics manufacturers burn in (test) devices or components to screen these out. But weak parts do still sneak thru. That said, you probably want to mention this issue next time you're in the dealer for repair/service. If the problem re-occurs, they will have it documented that this is a repeat issue.
I'd be tempted to reseat the electrical connections under the seats. It's possible, but unlikely, that you have a loose connection. Although nothing should happen, the electrical connections for your seats are tied into the air bags. If something's screwed up, there's a slight chance you could deploy them. (I'm an engineer and can attest to the fact "stuff" happens).
Got to love all the power eating features Ford has added to their trucks. Easy entry, power deployable steps, perimeter lighting, delayed lighting, etc... All neat items, but with the weak batteries Ford uses. These features will leave you needing a jump start.
Oh well, hope the problem never shows up again.
