Hi All,
Have already fixed the weak lock motors on my 2000 F250 thanks to the great info on this site. Now I can't get the truck to go into programming mode. I know it has Keyless entry, as I located the relays and identified the wiring while trying to fix the weak locks before I found the fix here.
I've tried the key on off 8 times but the locks never cycle. I've tried it with the driver door open and closed, cycling the locks from unlocked to locked to unlocked before cycling the ignition switch. Tried cycling the ign switch 5 times, 8 times and 10 times. No help. Any ideas???
Sorry I don't have an answer for you. I just purchased a 2003 F250 Super Duty extended cab 8' bed 2 WD 5.4 with no key fob. Bought one at Autozone but could not get it to program. I think it might be that I was not careful to switch from off to run and not accessory to run.
On your 2003 texan, you may have to have the dealer program it for FOB operation. I assume that there is a driver's side door panel on with the 1-2, 3-4 etc. numbers on it, right? My '05 came with the driver's door plate but no key fod operation. Dealer had to program the PCM to make it operational before I would buy the truck.
Thanks for the info. I don't know anything about key fobs. I'll check my door and take it to a dealer to see what it needs. Just hate those dealer prices. I'm looking for a shop repair manual; anyone know where to find d one cheap?

LOL on that! I just bought a used 2000 F350 XLT. I didn't get the keyless entry dongle but I did get a key! I think this truck has the capabilities to have a remote because if I do what the owners manual says and switch the key on/off 8 times the thing appears to go in a programing mode. My question is where is the factory remote keyless entry module? I would like to find it before I go out and buy keyless remotes. Thanks in advance for any help.
Thank you "project". The GEM module is located under the dash by the fuse box as I found out. (sorry still quite ignorant on this truck, waiting for some manuals) Is there any way to determine if the GEM will work with remote fob's? Like I said earlier if I cycle the key the way the owners manual says it appears to go into the program mode (doors lock/unlock).I will go out and buy a couple and try but I don't want to waste my money. Thanks again
Well, I got brave and ordered 2 fob's from Ama..., they programed up just fine. Guess I'm pushing my luck but how would you know if it has remote start? Thanks for anybody's help.
