I have a quick question that hopefully some of you guys with newer SD's can answer for me.....
I currently have a 2006 F250 SD with a short bed.....just put a down payment on an '09 with a short bed....question is, will the bedliner out of my '06 fit the '09?
Considering the price of these things I'm trying to save as much $$ as I can up front!
Line-X it, don't ruin the bed of your truck. You will be shocked once you remove the bed liner. In fact, for resale value, you should leave it where it is, maybe the buyer will not look under it.
It should fit. The tail gate is the only difference between an '06 and an '09.
I agree on a spray-in being preferred, but also understand the need to save coin. If you are trading in the old truck, they won't care about the bed liner. If you plan to sell it yourself, then taking a peek under it in advance would be advised.
Trust me....if there was ANY way I could afford to Line-X the '09 it would be done! Unfortunately, I cannot at this time. The truck is already set to be traded in to the dealer, and the deal has already been written, so what's underneath will be their problem not mine. I am not particularly worried about it as myself and my friends business all buy our SDs from the same salesperson, and have for a number of years....so believe it or not, we actually get pretty decent treatment. I understand the tailgate is different, so I'll have to see what I can do about that (especially since the 09 has that cheesy freaking "step" in it!).
Thanks for the replies guys....guess I will be yanking the old bedliner this weekend!
Yah, dimensions of box are exactly the same (save for tailgate) so it'll fit....line x when you get chance in the furure....don;t bother with the "xtra" as it's not worth the extra over regular line x
You say the deal is already done. If that is the case shouldn't you be leaving the bed liner in the old truck? Unless something different was stipulated when the deal was made the dealer should get the liner anyway. I'm sure they will want it after they see the floor of the bed, at least they will if it looks like the truck my brother bought a while back.
bedliners aren't worth crap in my book. they stop one sort of scatch and cause another sort. there only real purpose is to hide the dents they failed to prevent.
