cargo restraining devices for Rugged Bedliner
I have a 01 ranger with a over the rail Rugged Bedliner. All the attachment points a closed over by the bedliner. What can I use to help restrain any cargo? I've read about Bed Bugs, but the manufacturer says they mostly do not work on Rugged Bedliners. Also I have seen where people have cut out holes to get to the attachment points, but I am concerned about whether this would have any effect on the bedliner or bed.

Accessing your factory tie downs
Hi,
I sold and installed Rugged Liners for 7 years at the retail truck accessory store I managed, and the factory rep for Rugged Liner is my best friend.
You can gain access to your tie downs by removing the bedliner from the truck first (remove the plastic clips holding it in, they will probably break in the process, I can send you 4 if they do, just call me at 407-339-1917) and then you will see indentations or dimples in the bedliner indicating the correct location of each tie down, take a 2 inch hole saw in a drill and center the drill bit on the hole saw in the dimple and then drill. You will drill a perfect 2 inch access hole for your tie downs, and will not affect the liner whatsoever, it is designed that way so you can cut them out. The reason they are not precut is to give the truck owner the option as to whether to cut them out or not, since some people may not want them cut out (i.e. someone hauling mulch or gravel who does not want to end up with such items getting in the holes and under the bedliner, and having to remove the liner periodically to clean the stuff out from under it). Then simply re-install the liner.
Hope that helps.
