Injector software update?

Injector software update?
I apparently had a bunch of crud in my fuel bowl that made it into my injectors. The shop I took it to replaced 2 stuck injectors. After doing that and checking things out, they said there's an injector that is not at 100%. They said I may want to have the latest injector software update ( I guess that's a reflash?) Said it may bring that injector back up to 100%. They can't do the software update, but recommended I go to a Ford dealer to have it done.

Does this sound legit? THANKS

Tuning won't fix a dodgy injector. What year is your truck and what PCM code is it?

Your shop was probably thinking about the 6.0L trucks. 6.0L's had flash updates for programming to solve some injector issues, and other problems.

The 7.3L's don't have updates for injectors tuning.

No such flash update for the 7.3l. That's for the 6.0l's. Its called a FICM flash update. 7.3's do not have a FICM.

Regardless what engine it is, if the injectors are bad their bad and need to be replaced.

Yep -- that's why I was asking...

You need to find an AB code injector. Late 99 & up have AD injectors.

Stick with Clay, he has some good pricing on stuff like injectors.
