99 explore engine swap?

Hi, my engine in my 1999 explore xl is starting to tick and is basically ready to be rebuilt. I have the oportunity to buy a 1997 explorer engine with half the km. I was just wondering if this would be an easy swap considering their both the 4L engine? Also would the parts be interchangable?

Depends which engines are involved, are they OHC or OHV, both were produced in those yrs.
