My cruise doesn't work. When the button is pressed, there is no indicator light. The cruise won't engage at all. I printed out the troubleshooting sheets from alldata and did the whole test routine, and it turns out that the cruise control servo is bad. I have tried to get it to go into diagnostic mode to see if it would throw a flash code, and I can see the cruise indicator flash on to indicate programming mode, but it won't respond the rest of the key in sequence. I know the buttons are sending a signal because of the tests I ran previously. My question is this: Will a bad servo prevent the system from going all the way into diagnostic mode?
I don't want to spend the money on the servo only to find it was some other problem that was pointing at or being masked by the servo.
I had the same problem with my cruise control. I changed the brake pressure switch because it looked like it was leaking ($12.99), then I found out this was a recall issue so it was good because the fuse had blown. I replaced the fuse and the whole system worked perfectly, but the only thing is that the cruise light on the dash does not come on. Hope you figure it out.
