strange noise under acceleration
on my 2000 F350 V10. when i am accelerating and it hits around 2000-2500 RPMs i heard a noise from the engine that sounds like a bad idler pulley or tensioner. almost a squeal. i replaced the belt, tensioner, and the idler pulley hoping to fix the problem. are the v10s just noisy at times under acceleration? it has 74,000 miles on it. also i do have a couple broken exhaust studs. 2 on the right bank, and 1 on the left. i was thinking maybe i am just hearing the motor through the leaks along with the ticking, but want to make sure.

Mine started up again as well. I crawled under with a screwdriver and started tapping around. I found one of the hose clamps (that I installed) holding on the y-pipe cover had disintegrated (love the salt roads!).
I grabbed a pair a vise grips and just ripped it off entirely...
