I have been hearing there is a combined Mustang/Ford Truck yard in the Norfolk area where you need to watch the vehicle you drove there in real close!
It seems that if you walk away from a car or truck with a valid inspection (or even tag) sticker on it, you may return to find that it (the sticker) is mysteriously gone...
I wish I could remember the exact name of the yard, it's "Sonnies", or "Johnnies", or something like that- Mustang and Truck Salvage...
Be careful! The guys that warned me went so far as to say "Drive someone elses car, man..."
Yea, its called Johnson's Mustang and truck parts. Only been there a few times, although i think all junkyards are like this. My step dad had his licoln continental strip of his starter alternator and radiator one time at Ingrams salvage yard... its accross from the ford plant
Been there a couple of times. I told the guy I needed some bumper mrackets and he said "Ok take the main trail and the whole left side is full of 67-72 trucks." My a$$ he had like 2 67-72's. He quoted me at $125.00 for a steering column (4X2 67-72 with AT and neutral safety switch on column) if I pull it myself. Sounds a bit high to me. If anyone in the tidewater area can sell me one for cheaper let me know. Can't get it till October when my SRB installment comes in.

Try Rudy's off Hwy 58 in Suffolk, across from the Hampton Roads airport. It's a mostly Ford yard. If you can't haggle down to your price, there are half a dozen other yards within a 5-mile stretch on 58---and they all want your business.
Just picked my 1st truck, 1993 F150 XLT. I'll turn 40 soon so I guess its about time! Nice to hear about the "Yards" in the area. My F150 is in good shape but there is always things to improve. Any thoughts on the truck? I've got a ding in the chrome on the tail-gate that I plan to try and replace. I awesome it comes off the tail-gate?? Just excited to finally get a TRUCK!
Johnsons didn't turn out to be all that bad, but B&G out on 58 by the airport will wheel and deal with you if you see the owner wandering around out in the yards. Dickerin' is an old southern tradition...
