Coolant filter question

Okay, so I read the coolant filter is so important. I am know thinking of doing it. Here is a kit that I have found. Anyone had experience with this kit and/or have a better kit? This is the right price, though I am more looking for ease of installation.

How long does it take to install a coolant filter?

Lol. Just sent ya a pm. Alot of people seem to like that kit and it's pretty simple to do. Good insurance for your engine. Oh yeah it takes about 30 minutes to an hour maybe.

That is funny, I just saw that. Yeah, this kit does not look that bad to install. I can't see your sig here, do you have a fileter? Hopefully I will have all this stuff worked out by the end of next month!

And mine is a 2006 with 104,000 miles. I had the EGR/oil coolers done in July under warranty. hehe

Yeah the coolant filter and ccv reroute was the first mods I did to my truck. I pieced my filter together and maybe saved a few bucks but if I had it to do over again I would probably buy that kit. The tee fittings are a little hard to find.

I just ordered this the other day. That it is the most highly recomended kit on fte. Everything I have read about it says that they have very good instructions with it and great customer support.

I just installed the Diesel Site coolant filter kit on Saturday. It was very easy and straightforward. I recommend being ready to install the machined Tee for the heater hose as soon as you cut the line as it can be a bit messy. Other than that it was simple, after researching for a while on here it was by far the best kit.

I installed the Diesel Site kit when I changed my coolant. It took about 30 minutes and I consider it to be one of if not the easiest reliability mods that can be done to the 6.0. The hardest part for me was installing the bracket which holds the filter. It's kind of a tight squeeze getting the bolt installed that holds the bracket in place.

You might want to do a search on coolant filters there have been several threads with recommendations on what can be done to minimize coolant loss when the filter is installed.

Installed the vary same system on my 6.0 back in July. Changed the filter after 5k and you would not believe the sand that was filtered. By the way, do like a someone just posted and do a cooland flush first. If you do a search. You'll find some good info on how to do it right without a big mess. Oh use distilled water. The minerals it the tap water (not good).

Drain a gallon or so out of the rad, that way it won't be messy- like I didn't do and did have a mess. Unless you do like previously posted and do it after you flush it out, just install the filter before you refill the coolant. BTW thats the kit I used also, Bob is a great guy!

I just received mine yesterday. Same one from Dieselsite. I also purchased the ball valves, make the filter change alot cleaner. Also buy a few extra filter to save on shipping later on..Very Easy Install

I installed this same filter two weekends ago. Took me about an hour. Nice good with good instructions. I ended up cutting the heater hose connections short on 1 side and had to get some extra heater hose to repair. No big deal but try and avoid my mistake when you install.
