5 Speed Trans ID?

Anyone know the diff between Mazda/Toyo & the 2 other trannys for a 300 6 5 speed 150? i Have a few junkyard units to choose from, but there seems to be a few. The one I'm looking for fits a 1996 150 6 cyl 2WD 5 speed truck. Thanks!
Rog

The only 5 speed available for the F150 is the mazda M5R2 (sometimes called the M5OD) The other trans available in the F150s were either 3 speeds or 4 speeds.

The top loaders available in the F150s were the T-18 and the T-19, both 4 speeds. The Tremtec T-5 was a mustang trans that was never put in an F150 from the factory.

in 1990 it should have been the mazda M5R2. Im not saying you didnt find a truck with a T5 in it, it would bolt right up to a 302. Just didnt come that way from the factory. Was the bellhousing integral with the case, or were they 2 seperate pieces?

I've been looking for some threads of the t-5 somewhere on here, my 5 speed died tonight 171k original. A t-5 in an f series would be cool to see or do, Wonder how it would go?

Trans pics here:

Domestic Truck Tranny Guide

T5? A couple Mustang models had a 3.35 first. That and a steel bearing retainer might work. You'll need an adaptor due to input shaft issues.

Funny how you'll find a mistake like that one place then later another and so on.
Don't anybody do their own research? Seems everybody just cuts and pastes. :/

The two lower tags came off of T18's that were in '75 Ford pickups, the tag sez
it's '74 part number. LOL :)
