Marti auto also reproduces the laminated paper door jamb certification sticker. I ordered both for my '73 and they are excellent. He also sells the special rivets that attatch the metal vin plate to the door. They are easy to install with no special tools needed.
They are exactly like original. I also ordered the metal tag and door jamb sticker. I think you have to order a report too in order to get the tags, but not sure
Jermafenser, sorry I'm not going to be home for another 10 weeks so I can't get pictures of the tags.
The quality is geat. They both look absolutley original, in fact the paper cert. sticker actually looked better than the original. On mine the typed part was always very light and washed out but on the reproduction the typing was dark and clear.
If I can get someone at home to get some pictures for me while I'm gone I'll post them for you.
I don't believe you HAVE to order the report. I did get my report and later ordered the tag and sticker. But I don't remember anywhere that it was mandatory to order the report.
I know - I just want to know if they are worth the money. I still have both in good shape, but it's gonna be a full restore, so...the certification label probably would be destroyed in the process.
Wish it was vacation, I'm working. Ironically, I'm in Dearborn, MI doing some work at the Ford Rouge plant where they make F150's.
Weather is already headed towards the pits. I'm scheduled to be here untill Dec 19!
Jermafenser, here are the pictures of the metal VIN plate and paper certification label from Martiauto.com. I've also included a picture of the special rivets for the VIN plate. They're installed using a 3/16" punch or rod.
Hope this helps.
Mike
Glad I could help.
The font matches mine perfectly. Maybe Ford used slightly different fonts over the years.
I e-mailed pictures of my vin and cert. to Marti so there wouldn't be any problems with incorrect data.
They came out perfect.
Mike
