Im pulling a 302 out of a 89 f250 and was woundering if any on has ever put on in a ranger. The ranger has a 4.0 in it now so i beleave that i will have to put tranny and transfer case out of the f250 in it. Any advice would be greatly apreciated. planen on maken the ranger a sleeper
The link above has a downloadable conversion manual which I found helpful when I did mine. He's done a lot of research into Ranger V8 conversions and can tell you what works and what doesn't.
I did it back when my jeep was still a bronco II. Its not to hard. Get a NP 205 t case sense the bw 1356 is extreamly wide and wont fit between your frame rails with out grinding on the frame which i wouldnt suggest doing. I ran james duff headers they where cheap but didnt have a smog cert. There motor mounts suck i built my own after theres started to dry rot after 7 years.
