Hi everyone, I just put a new 2.9 in my 90 ranger automatic,it popped already so now i'm gonna wise up and throw in a 302efi out of a 93 f150. Now I know I have to change the mounts and exhaust and do some customizing. I'm wondering exactly what I will need to complete this project and will the auto trans thats on the 302 work. Also a body lift would help right? Cost Factor? Any help would be much appreciated.
what i had in mind was somebody that has already done it to give me some tips and precautions and give me some advice on what works best with what but thanks anyway i have done that.
There is a good bit of info on this. There are a few transmissions you can use. Whatever is in the F-150 will fit but if you are looking for exact models the C4, C6 AOD, AODE and E40D will all fit the E4OD will be very tight without a body lift. A body lift isn't needed but does help a little. You will need engine mounts (buy or make them) a radiator, oil filter relocation kit, headers if you wish or some junkyard manifolds, all the wiring from the 150 and if you have a 4x4 either an adapter kit to use the stock t-case or use a fullsize t-case and make new driveshafts. That will get you started for what you are looking to do.
