I need to replace the three fuel hoses by the fuel filter. I know a 3/8" 30R9 hose is ideal, but my local napa only had 100R6 which has a max working pressure of 400psi. Is this hose good to use? Or should I look elsewhere.
I think there are two 3/8th and one 5/16th hose. You can use another hose but it won't last very long. There must be an IH or Cummins dealer in your area.
IIRC the lower of the 3 is the 5/16" its the one you have to remove the fillter bowl assembly to remove. There is also the one for the fuel drain and depending on the year of your truck one off the FPR. The 3 at the pump are blue and 2 others are black, I wnat to say the drain is 5/16" and the FPR is 3/8".
Napa does carry the hose. You just have to check the hose for the rating. I think the 30r9 spec is for Bio diesel. Or so I have read. Shoot I was at Napa today and forgot to check. Going back tomorrow anyway.
I found the filter restriction switch leaking, so i replaced it with a pipe plug. I also found that the leaking diesel had softened the insulation on the wire harness that goes under the fuel bowl.
