I just removed my HPOP and dug around in the valley and found the ball! You are correct, the one I found appears to be brown plastic about 1/4" in diameter. Can't believe it was still there. I found the plug in the street.
ok so i got the hpop back on the truck, but now it wont start i figured maybe it will take a bit since it might have to make pressue of some sort ... n well ive tried and tried and still nothing... the oil gauge doesnt move up untill u turn the key forward and when u stop trying to start the truck but leave the key in the run position it holds in the middle of the guage then drops back down ? i have checked the first plugs on the oil rails and topped it off n still just cranks and cranks....what gives?
at the moment no i dont have a way to see the icp ... n ive tried n tried to start it but with no luck ... I was just looking around the site to see if i found any info that maybe i didnt see before ... and well i torqued down everything but the main bolt that holds the gear to the oil pump i tightend till the engine started spinnin and now i seen a comment about having to hold the engine from spining to place the nut at the right torque specs ... but i would say the gear is set right becasue i dont hear any binding or strange noises. I am wondering if maybe since its not torqued down right it may be causing my issue? hmm
well it did sound like it was starting to strain so i tried jumping it off but i had to use the far end batterys from both of the trucks...n it help with the engine spining but it jus didnt crank over
You might want to snug that bolt down. I think it is 70 ft-lbs. It can take a while and a few charges on the batteries to get it going sometimes. Just crank it at 15-20 seconds at a time.
