Just to clarify, the Superduty was included before, but now the diesel motors are included. We've seen several posts of Superduty V-10's catching fire from not getting the recall done. I don't recall ever seeing a fire post here with a diesel, but it looks like we get a new switch anyway.
A few techs weighed in last time, and said that if you have the red switch on the master cylinder, it's not necessary to do anything to it. Would love to hear if that's still valid.
My 2001 was recalled last time, I never took it in, just wired in a 5 amp fuse myself.
From my understanding all it is is a fuseable link more or less. just plug it between the two conectors and yu are gone,
Yep, at the Ford dealer by the house a guy comes out from the service area with a harness and a couple of zip ties, trucks never went to the service area, fast as could be.
So i have a modest electricial background. But it sounds to me like they are not replacing what is the problem, they are just using a fuse for ckt protection?
"Ford advised owners of all vehicles covered by the recall to park them outside until they are mailed instructions by the end of the month on how to get repairs."
My truck has been on the road for 10 years. I'm not going to stop driving it until I get the letter.
