I have a unrelenting and loud squeak coming from my front end on my 98 F150. I first noticed this a couple years ago when I dixcovered a broken stabilizer bar link which seemed to fix the problem and I never heard the noise again. About 2 months ago the noise was back so the first thing I did was check the stabilizer linkage and sure enough the other side was broken. This is probably because I didn't replace both linkages when the first one broke. I replaced the second linkage and the noise went away for a couple days and now it is back. The stabilizer bar linkages are fine and intact and I have no idea where this noise is coming from. The only other thing I can think of is maybe the ball joints or the shocks. Any and all suggestions are always appreciated.
here is a couple ideas.
--daughters 1998 mustang had similar noise. I shot WD40 into the rubber bushings holding the stabaliezer arm to the frame. That would work for a week. I finally took off, painted antisieze all over the rubber, and reinstalled. that was 4 years ago.
--- ball joints on sons old F150 was making noise when you turned corners, or hit a bump. new joints fixed that.
------- moral to the story is, several things can cause it. have someone bounce on the fender or bumper and feel around or spray WD40 on areas and see if you tell a difference.
