Has anyone used the mounts from trans dapt or similar ones. These are bolt in side mounts that use a biscuit style mount, in the repo parts books all i've seen are the full crosmembers.......all I can think of is the full crossmember helps with frame rail twist (from sitting weight of motor).

................…or from engine torque?
This is a little weird (and cool), a (old) guy from the “Hot Roding Capital” of the world talkin’ with a (old) guy from “Resume Speed” nowhere!
I think that the cross-member type motor mount and (if you have a) mustang II cross-member do not always make for a happy couple with both trying to occupy the same space at the same time and therefore the frame mounted engine mounts, but of course in that situation the M II cross-member would provide extra strength.
There are some nice frame engine mounts available or you can build your own.

that's what the internet should be about .
it has a homemade fe crossmember in it now (and i stress homemade ) and i'm not sure if i'm going to stay with the 390. i've already bent the brake lines and they might be in the way of a new crossmember. the ones i was talking about are the black ones pictured above.
the 390 needs to be rebuilt (and the C-6 might not be too far behind, found a piece of a large snap ring in the pan). as much as i hate to think about it, this is going to be a daily driver so mpg is going to be a factor. so with the 10-12 mpg and the $3000-$3500 for a quality rebuild i'm thinking of a change.
