I lost the cord to my Husky battery jump box. after searching for a replacement on line I have found on on Ebay. I have found out that the cord is a 12v 700ma. What I need to know is the round plug/pin the same for all 12v 700ma plugs or are they different? I hate to spend the money, only to find out that there are different plugs for the same12v 700ma.
I seem to recall at least 2 different size plugs for those wall type adapters. If you buy it and its wrong, you might be able to find the right size connector at Radio Shack and splice it on.
Outside diameter --- I think it's usually 2.5 or 3.5 mm
Inside diameter -- this can fool you because if it's too large, it will make an unreliable connection.
Length -- there are some plugs that are too short for some applications
Polarity -- I think that the outside connection is usually the negative these days, but you need to check. ( there are little pictures on the transformer and hopefully on whatever you want to plug into).
Good news is as others have said, you can get a replacement plug -- probably from Radio Shack. You do have to be reasonable with a soldering iron to replace the original. If you end up doing this be careful of the polarity.
If it were me, I'd order it and check the fit and polarity before applying any power. If it doesn't fit, take the cord and the jump box to Radio Shack.
You can also find some universal plug kits, but they might not have 700 ma capability -- that's fairly hefty for these types of gimmicks.
I went ahead and bought the cord on Ebay, but it has a pin in the center. The jump box has a pin in the center also, so it won't work. I will go to Radio Shack tomorow and see what they have. I'm also going to check a battery supply store in town also, maybe they have the cord.
