I just bought a 2001 Ford F150 SuperCrew, 4.6L Triton V8, 4x2 on Friday. It misses or hesitates on the acceleration --without a pattern -- sometimes it will do it and sometimes it won't. The dealership that I bought it from says that performed a complete tune-up (which I'm skeptical of) but it is still doing it. Does anyone have any ideas? I plan to be back at the dealership on Monday morning with it. I am seriously considering returning the truck to them.......any ideas?
Thanks....I will try to get them to do that. I drove it with my brother, who is a mechanic, today and can you believe it didn't do it the entire time we drove!!! When I drove it home from the dealer on Friday night it was raining and the roads were wet.....I wonder if the "wet" weather had anything to do with it???
If it does it when it's wet, it could very well be a coil or coil boot problem..... The coils and their boots are sensitive to wet weather when they're loose or bad.
