Head Stud ??
I am trying to install my head studs this weekend. Some of the go in how the should "depth wise". Some of mine went 4" even.Some stayed out like 3/8". I am not sure but it actes like there is something in the holes. I tried to blow them out with an air hose and stick a screw driver down in there. Not sure what can be blocking it. Any ideas??

I've never done the heads on this engine, but I remember some of the older gas engines had longer/shorter studs in the head. Probably for clearance from internal passages, etc. Were your original studs various lengths?

From the looks, i am thinking now that they need to go in the hole right above the injectors. It looks to be needed for the injector to sit right in the cup. Does that sound right????
