Right about now i want nothing to do with my truck.
This week it has been one thing after another.
I replaced the fuel filter on monday, and just today (saturday) i was driving home and got onto the highway, as i accelerated up to about 45mph i started to feel a little vibration. i didnt think much and went up to my 70mph and set the speed control.
the vibration didnt go away. i took it off of speed control and accelerated and when i took my foot off the pedal the vibrations stopped. the truck was still going about 65mph but the vibratioins stopped when i took my foot off the pedal.
does any one have any ideas??
i have ruled out
- the driveshaft becuase it stops when it i take my foot off the pedal.
- fuel filter (i just changed it)
- tires are brand new

You cannot rule out the new tires unless the vibration was there before you replaced them, and even then maybe not. You also cannot rule out the driveshaft either. Under load it will act differently than when it is not. There is the entire driveline there.
What kind of vibration is it? It may be as simple as the exhaust hitting on something. This includes the down pipe. Give us detailed info on the vibration.
it just started. i put my lift on and then got my tires and have put about 1k miles on it or a little less. just yesterday is when it started.
as soon as i get up around 45 50 it just starts. i can feel it in the steering wheel and see it in the mirrors. it isnt a huge vibrations, just something enough to make me notice it.
i guess the best way to describe it woudl be close together and loud but not overbearing that i cant drive the truck.
my biggest questions about it is why woudl it stop when i take my foot off the gas.
Can't answer why it would stop after letting off of the skinny peddle. My ujoint went bad shortly after installing add-a-leafs to the back end. My truck was doing the same thing(mirrors and steering wheel shaking) I thought at first it was my tires and then I was crawling around underneath one day and I could actually see needle bearings in one of the caps.
Best bet is to start crawling around underneath. Park on flat surface, block the wheels and leave in neutral. Twist, pry, pull etc. on every joint and drive shaft you can find. There shouldn't be any play. If everything's tight, it could be a wheel bearing.
one thing i did notice is there is a little play in the rear u joint where it goes into the pumpkin.
also for those who have lifted your trucks, did you pitch the rear axel on the same angle that the drive shaft is coming down on. would this be something i should do. its either that or i am going to put a spacer to drop the drive shaft down a little.
oh and they said at rough country it was useless to balance the wheels because they were so big and would come out of balence anyway. i though it was bull but havent balecned them yet.
