chances are bro did take pics, if he gives em up ill see about help pstin them so you can lookee see. right now he ainy exc a happy camper. that maruader is a tribute car to his 18 year old son. my nephew who lost his life just recently in a ride very close to this. thats what its all about. to build or finish what they started before it all whatever. hence the cetrifugal charger, big bucks in drivetrain. dyno sessions more than once remapping and on and on. his heart is broke and so is the rear, not good.later paul md.
hi bill paul here. you know what bill, i was dead wrong when i said big little brothers ride went hard right. i talked to him an hour ago and he said no paul, your a 180 off. my ride went hard to the left. remember you asked me to ask him. i am wrong bill. it did exactly what yours and your dads does. to the left. he surprised me but he did not take pics. but it aint over yet. if you want i will update you as things go on. right now the axle is back at the mfg being anallized. trax is also involved. both co,s are looking at what happened. you know he reapeated to me how quick and violent it was. he said again he almost lost the whole ride that quick. remember your caution, be carefull or it will turn your **** around. but it goes deeper. he is rethinking the whole mechanical princeable. he said paul i would wait till the facts are clear before you buy and run one on the street only, part time dirt diggin fine. it got involved where trax ir really a SPOOL with a twist. you know i am not proud and maybe 85e150six4mtod is right. strictly street maybe friction plates is the best safest way to go. its an interesting problem and like i said i will share if you want, but right now every thing is in progress, i dont have any intelligent facts to say right now. bro will figure it out in time trust me.this ride is very special to the whole clan. i told you why. hey thanks for the ear. its always good to hang with you. later. paul md.
That is VERY interesting about getting Trax involved and how you say it's really just a spool. I won't argue there.. about the only time the locker disengages is at really slow speeds, so to even make a corner coming from a stop you end up dragging the other tire. Again I'm glad everyone is okay, things could have gotten a whole lot worse a lot more quick. If it's a bother you don't have to update us but I think we all want to know what happened, what caused it exactly, who is at fault, what gave and what will happen. If you get any pictures, slide them this way.
you got fellas as it comes my i will share it with as long as its okay with big little brother(hes younger by me by two years, but he has always been bigger and stronger than i. theres no secrecy bill, we just want to be sure all the vendors get a fair shake to be fair. we are firm belivers in that. you were fair enough and good enough to say it yourself a few posts back. sometimes a part just dont forge right or it gets by quality control. you know the old saying is true. sometimes stuff happens. you know honestly, at this point we are not dead sure that may have been OUR fault. old man time will tell bill. meanwhile you and pop watch that LEFT side later paul md.
Hey Paul thanks for putting me on to this thread. This is the kind of thing I was hoping to get involved with. I think I'm gonna go with the Powertrax. I've got 30 + Pennsylvania winters under my belt so I'm no stranger to ice.
Hey Bill how's things with you? It's been awhile since we've shot the breeze.

Hey you're a good man and I think it's safe to say we all appreciate the information. The main thing with me is I want to know WHAT caused the break and HOW exactly.

Hey Mr Clay, what's been happening on your end of the stick?? You need to shoot me a PM if you ever get bored.
Keep in mind what I said about the powertrax. It only supports tires up to 32 inches, I believe. I've been told a locker is not beneficial on Ice also. Just make sure to weigh your pro's and con's. If you get by just fine without a locker, going through the time, money and effort of installing one isn't going to change your world upside down. It's a serious thing in my opinion because a careless driver can turn his **** end around in a MINUTE - and it doesn't take much power to do so with the locker (case in point, I did this to myself with my I6).
Just be sure to weigh the pro's and con's. I know I sound like a broken record but I just hate to see people pay good money for something they will regret, or worse. My dad warned me about the locker but I didn't know just how easy it is to do a 360. I wasn't even coming off a redlight; I was making a slow speed left hand turn and got on it too hard. I nearly hit a woman sitting in the other lane.
hi, i want to go further on this subject esp with you guys, but i am asking about lengths of posts. if i stay on topic, stay real and stick with hardcore info will the forum let me talk. another point. i assure you both, when we find out you will know. its no trouble atall on my end. for me it would be a pleasure. my bro really did come close to losing a very very exp ride with this locker deal. in addittion we have had many talks while we wait for results. learned some things etc. frankly i wish i had not told the other man about trax. from what i know right now i do not believe it is right for his APP. and bill, i respect yoy alot for your repeated warnings about this particular design and intended use. so far in our exp you are DEAD right period. its not for everyone period. thanks fellas. dont forget my request okay. paul md
