Had to haul a load to the dump today and it was pouring. Of course the wipers stopped working on the highway. I'll turn them on and they'll work, albeit they move slow, but after a few strokes they'll stall mid-windshield then jerk and stall until they finally finish the stroke. If i turn them on then off mid stroke they'll complete the stroke just fine as long as i turn it off and on for each stroke. What do ya'll think? I finally got a free day tomorrow and was gonna take care of it. Thanks for any replies.
Its the wiper pulse board. Pull the dash peice off with the *****. Follow the wire for the wipers, it'll meet a big connector. The wire continues in a black box right above the fuse box. One sheet metal screw holds it on. Take it out, open the box up and inspect all the solder'd joints. One tiny little crack in the solder will cause this. Re-solder done.
Its the pulse board, look it up on Google. It'll have pictures and how to if you find the right article.
Update: I found a little black box that the wiper wires go to and i couldn't tell if the solder joints were good. Some of them had what looked like rust on it but no cracks. I'm gonna throw a bunch more solder on and see what happens.
alright, so i re soldered everthing and the wipers work better but not like they used to. They still seem to move a little slow. Also, they make a terribly loud grinding/whining noise. wiper motors maybe?
