The pipes come off your exhaust manifold and through the cats before they converge into one pipe. To get true duals, you cut it right where they come together and weld on new pipes, then the pipes go into the muffler (dual in/dual out - the best way to go for equalization) or mufflerS if you must go true duals manifold to tip. From the muffler they go out to where ever you want. In central MS, you could likely get this setup for around $300 custom bent on a hydraulic bender (better than crimped/wrinkle bends, not as good as mandrel bent, and the most common method in your typical shop) with 2.5" pipe and 3.5" tips, and a brand name muffler. It would be cheaper using a knock off muffler, which is readily available at most muffler shops. It would also be cheaper to use a single inlet, dual outlet muffler and avoid the custom work in front of the muffler. Unless you're using headers, true duals won't make a whole lot of difference over a good quality cat back system. You can get the mandrel bent stuff in kits online, reasonably priced, and do the install yourself, probably with no welding, and all you will need is wrenches and a sawzall to cut off the original muffler.
