P1249 Need Help!
. But I really need some help! I have a 99' F250 w/ the 7.3L Powerstroke. I pulled a p1249 Wastegate Fail Steady State Test code off my truck. I cleared the code and it came back later on in the day. The SES light doesn't come on but when I am going up a hill and I'm almost to the top of it the truck goes to upshift and when the RPMs are on their way down they kind of surge or bounce back up a little and then drop where they are supposed to be. I don't have a tuner or programmer I do have an air intake and 5" exhaust. I've all ready checked to see if the red line (vaccuum?) is connected and it is. So what could it be? Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

I am not sure what is that code refers to other than possibly a leak some where on your red or green lines. Check to make sure they are all connected and that the sensor is as well. If you want you can also delete this all together by pulling the lines and plugging where they went on the sensor and intake.
