'11 6.7L Superduty crank/no start

My 2011 6.7L F250 Superduty died on interstate the other night. Picking up throttle pulling onto interstate when a message came on the dash "reducing engine power" and the truck died. It will crank but will not start. It will start on ether but dies when that runs out. Has the following codes... p1249 Wastegate control valve, p0087 fuel rail/system pressure too low, p1291 & p1292 injector high side short to ground or battery (bank 1 & 2), p2291 injector control pressure too low-engine cranking. The codes are telling me I don't have enough fuel pressure but scan tool says I have 4000 w/ key on and 6370 while cranking and I thought 5000 was the pressure needed. First post, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds like a fuel pressure issue from the low pressure pump on the frame rail but you seem to be getting reasonable pressure. When was the last time you changed your fuel filters? Were the lines in the engine compartment reattached correctly? How many miles on the truck? Could definitely be your low pressure pump but just guessing at this point.

Thank you for the reply. I got the truck with 115,000 on it and it has 135,000 now. Just changed filters the other night after it died but to no avail. Thanks for the suggestions though.

What filters did you put in it? Also if you drain the separator does it drain easy?

Don't use ether on a turbo motor btw.

Your fuel system may have water in it or the low pressure pump might be bad.

I just used a napa fuel filter. There was a message the day before it died about water in fuel. Didn't think it would shut it down though. So after I drain the separator do I need to reset anything?

First thing would be to try some OEM filters. That is all that you should use on this motor for fuel and oil.

My guess is that some water probably made to the HPFP and sent metal throughout the system. Guess you will know more when you put the correct filters back in it.

That probably will help with the low pressure codes as well.

Did you just fill up? If so then you may have an insurance claim for bad fuel.

Thanks for replying. I'll get an OEM filter and give that a shot.

Yes I had just filled up, I'll have to look into that

save the receipt and start a claim with the service station.

The napa filters maybe letting air in the system. You hope that is all.
