Preliminary Foglamp with highbeams mod for the 08 Super Duty

***PLEASE NOTE THIS HAS NOT BEEN TESTED***

I do not have an 08, I have reviewed a schematic and come up with these instructions based on my findings. Test each circuit before making connections. I take no responsibility for any problems or damage that may occur due to this modification.

Things that you will need.
30/40A standard automotive relay, connectors, wire, meter.

1. Locate and access the Smart Junction Box (SJB) (fuse box)

2. Locate the Brown foglamp switch wire, test with a meter for ground when the foglamps are turned on. Tap into and extend this wire and run to the relay.

3. Locate the Grey/Violet foglamp output wire. Test with a meter for 12V when the foglamps are turned on. Cut this wire, insulate the half coming from the SJB, extend the other half and run to the relay.

4. Either tap into fuse #21 (15A) or install an inline fuse holder with a 15A fuse and connect to a 12 constant source.

5. Locate the Violet/White Parking lamp wire, test for 12V when the Parking lamps are on. Tap into and extend this wire and run to the relay.

This should provide Foglamps that operate off of the factory switch when either park, low, high beams are on.

If someone with an 08 cares to try this, please post you findings, information, and pictures so that we can improve these instructions.

I would like to know, so I could run my aftermarket foglights off the integrated switch instead of an upfitter switch.

The upfitter switches are only 30W and 10W, right? Or did I read the manual wrong?

Or maybe they changed it on the '08?

Here's a link for the foglight mod (so they will stay on with the highbeams):

Just wondering if anyone ever tried the mod to see if it worked? Need to do something to help the headlights in this truck out.

30 and 10 amps, not watts.

I haven't tried it yet. I have an '07, so it may not work, depending on how old that write-up is. I'll probably give it a shot soon (tonight, maybe?) and report back.
