Well, I did not have time to check out last night on the 08. I have found that the wiring colors on the 08 are apparently different for 07 and back. THe uppfitter switches and the SEIC wiring is different colors as well. I still can't purchase the wiring diagrams from Helm yet so hard to tell exactly what has changed.... If anybody has access to the schematics, I would appreciate someone checking this out... As far as the concern about voltage draw, since now everything is relayed, there is little current going through the switch. That is pretty evident by the size of the wires going to it now.... Seems kind of brain dead to me why it is setup like this to start with... I agree with one of the threads above about that is why they are on is for more light. I guess they think it is too bright for oncoming cars....
thanks

Thanks.... The 08 fuse panel is not under steering but located in right side kick panel in front of door. Not a bad location, easy to get to but hard to see... Need a light under the dash like we used to have on our trucks...

The 08 has a cover on the passanger side wall. See the light green and black wire. Just a little nervous to try it. The other piece of green & black, do you just put a dead end cap on it? Also just to clarify the black wire shown is just the same one just an extended wire loop on it that was grounded?

Well sorry to report that it does not look good for the 08's. Ford has gone to a smart junction box and everything is internal. I'm sure that with some outboard wiring it can still be done but it will not be as easy as the previous years are.

08 Foglights

Sounds like we might need to rewire the fog lights separately on another switch to get around...

I'm pretty sure that I can get it to work off the oem switch, give me a little time, I'm swamped at work right now. I'll try to get a look soon.

Preliminary Foglamp with highbeams mod for the 08 Super Duty

***PLEASE NOTE THIS HAS NOT BEEN TESTED***

I do not have an 08, I have reviewed a schematic and come up with these instructions based on my findings. Test each circuit before making connections. I take no responsibility for any problems or damage that may occur due to this modification.

Things that you will need.
30/40A standard automotive relay, connectors, wire, meter.

1. Locate and access the Smart Junction Box (SJB) (fuse box)

2. Locate the Brown foglamp switch wire, test with a meter for ground when the foglamps are turned on. Tap into and extend this wire and run to the relay.

3. Locate the Grey/Violet foglamp output wire. Test with a meter for 12V when the foglamps are turned on. Cut this wire, insulate the half coming from the SJB, extend the other half and run to the relay.

4. Either tap into fuse #21 (15A) or install an inline fuse holder with a 15A fuse and connect to a 12 constant source.

5. Locate the Violet/White Parking lamp wire, test for 12V when the Parking lamps are on. Tap into and extend this wire and run to the relay.

This should provide Foglamps that operate off of the factory switch when either park, low, high beams are on.

If someone with an 08 cares to try this, please post you findings, information, and pictures so that we can improve these instructions.

I think you will have greater success if you provide a specific part number and location to obtain the relay. Your instructions are good but many may be reluctant due to not wanting to purchase the wrong relay. Ya know what I mean?

Nice one rwilimo. Here's some automotive relay info to help people follow what you did:

A simple mod (if you know how, thanks for showing us). It works well on my 07.
