Hadn't thought of it, but you may be very correct. He may have more than one problem going on and both oil related. Good catch.

Like I said earlier I had the same exact thing going on in my '04 Excursion. So I took it to the dealer yesterday and had them do a flash update and now it runs like a champ even when cold. Do you have a heat inductive flash update? If not I'd try this first, only $104 at my dealer.

Exact issues with my 6.0 ltr....Flash update on FICM...No cost, under warranty...runs like new.

It threw codes PO611 FICM fail/fault and all the injectors low circut voltage tells me the FICM is on it's way out? What do you think?

Same exact starting/no-power issue with my '06 F250. Threw in a bottle of Hot Shot's Secret when I got the oil changed, got the newest flash update (only about $85 at my dealer)... now it runs and starts great. Start her up, and I can take off in a matter of seconds, not the 5 minutes it was taking beforehand. It runs better now in cold weather than it was in warm weather over the summer.
