2000 F350 V-10 has issues while.....
Buddy just called me stranded in Vanc. traffic trying to get home any time soon. This truck has been weird acting on a few occasions then gets better then back at weird again. My thoughts of injectors didn't change much when he replaced 2 COP's. It appears to run smooth while sitting at idle, rev the **** out of her it quickly accelerates, place in gear start to drive and it will not go past 2000 RPM even with pedal to the Rug/Mat. Maybe fuel filter??? Seen this performance with a bad one before. Unfortunately my code reader won't bring up a code. Never has with this truck but with many others it works fine.

Thanks Mike for the response. Buddy just called me and is nursing it home. Changed fuel filter, improved somewhat. It apparently climbs to @ 2k RPM sputters and dies out now. I'm thinking fuel pump too, what is the pressure supposed to be on these trucks? I'm assuming a low pressure pump within tank, high pressure inline. Haven't worked on this beast yet but surely will if he makes it the rest of the 100km home. LOL!

Confirmed Fuel pump failure! Hooked up to gauge tester showed 25 psi key ON, start engine came up to 30psi, revved engine lost pressure right to zero, truck sputtered starving for fuel. Now this being discovered my first question would be where is the fuel regulator located? In the tank or is it inline? I'm questioning this before pulling the tank, thinking the regulator may have crapped out. $700 bucks my cost at NAPA for fuel pump. Has anyone ever heard of, or installed an after market inline high pressure fuel pump in one of this pigs? Its been done with my 88 F350 Turbo Diesel, but then again were not comparing apples to apples. Thanks for all your feedback....

I am still new to these V10s (looking at buying one, but haven't yet). However, I do know '98-up Mustangs have returnless fuel systems and the fuel rail pressure sensor (FRPS) is something that commonly goes bad on those motors. I've killed two of them myself. On a 4.6L it is located at the front of the driver's side fuel rail. Hope this helps.
