What I'm wondering is why your taking the turbo apart just to do the WW?? Are you rebuilding the turbo, was there in and out play??
I had to take off the inner housing to get the middle section bolts out (one was missing and one loose). I did not take the bearing and stuff apart that washer just moves around and did not pay attention to the orientation when I took it off. I was looking on Guzzle's site on the van turbo rebuild but seems to be a little different. Just don't want to burn up the turbo.

Ok Grant, wasn't sure what bolts were loose you were talking about.
Grant, I see you don't have any gauges, just make sure when you button everything up that you get eveything lined up and snugged down to proper specks. When you have gauges, you can see if things arn't right like high EGT's and low boost, thought I would add this. What I did, I checked all the clamps after about a hundred or so miles to retourqe if needed.
Thanks Mike. Updated the sig. Going tomorrow on a big hill on the highway so we will see the difference. Kicked it in town hard and no surge so far.
Sounds good, you'll really notice it when or if you tow, made a big difference with mine. Lost a pound or two of boost but the trade-off was no surge, for me anyways, subscribing..
Went on a 400 mile trip today unloaded. Kicked it hard going up a 6% grade and no surge. Did not get any on the trip. Probably won't be towing for a while but still notice the difference. On the old compressor wheel definitely got surge on the same hills. Had the pleasure of blowing by a 6.0 on a hill . He was trying to pass and I did not want to get stuck by the semi's. Unfortunately, he was hauling a very small boat.
