Well today was a day from hell. backed my truck in to a parking spot then left with the fiance. came back and went to start it (had to do it under the hood) and it was in gear... She hopped the curb went down the bank and flipped into the Ohio River. Completely submerged in no time. I will get the pics as soon as i get them..
Sorry to hear that man. Look at the bright side: No one was killed. No one's kid was walking behind the beast when she took off, and no one is suing you for everything your grandchildren would have! You can always get another classic ford.
Closest thing that happened to me was I hauled in a perfectly straight 1959 ford 4X4 half ton and was unloading it at the house. I made the mistake of putting some air in the flat tires after unbooming her. She started rolling off the gooseneck and hit the ramps, seemed like it was doing 80 - slammed a tree and totaled the bed.
yea they got it towed out. the first half they dragged it on its side. then it flipped on its wheels. it might take awhile to get the pics. i didnt have a camera.. at first i just stood there like umm now what, blank look on my face then my fiance came over and i broke down. then when they started winching it out i broke down again. it was so hard to see my baby like that
I am very sorry to hear that happen to anyone that cares for there vehicle.
My first truck was a '48 and wsa adjusting the timing and carb, hit the throttle hard and it popped into reverse. Behind my truck was my friends 67 camaro. Yes it is a chevy but we just got done rebuilding the front half the week before. Quick thinking me (was only 16) decided to pull the coil wire. Well if your leaning over a wide metal fender and standing in water do not do that. Learned a good lesson that day.
Also at least not like the tsunami victims and everyone is safe
