Replacing front shocks - top bolt

Is there a trick to getting it off? It took me forever to get one off last night using a 19mm wrench. Very tight fit, and the threads are really long. I didn't see any way to get a deep well socket and a ratchet in there due to the inner fender. Am I missing something?

I was going to try a ratcheting wrench tonight on the other side.

Not sure if it makes any difference, but my truck is 2WD.

Spray it with PB-BLASTER, and let it set a while. That is some good stuff.

its not that its too tight, the issue is fitting a socket in there.

I just did mine. Its a 4wd, but has coil springs. I just used a wrench to break it free then used my fingers.

Carefully cut the exposed top threads off with a sawzall, it then allows you to get a standard socket/wrench over the top without having to use a deep well socket.

I used a Sawzall and cut the whole bolt and stud off. The problem you run into using a socket is you end up spinning the whole rod in the shock and never loosen the bolt any.
