White Smoke

I researched past posts on this yesterday....and found several ideas of what to check..however I thought I would ask in open forum for as much advise as I can get.

1st: where to start? As I read yesterday, the problem could be anything from air in my fuel to the GPR or GP's themselves

When I start my '06 6.0L F-250,I see a lot of white smoke and it idles rough until it warms up.(Almost as if a spark plug wire was bad on a gas engine). After the warm up period it runs smooth as silk. There is no smoke when I stop, however when I start to accelerate after a stop,a lot of white smoke....each and every time. Again...there is NO smoke as I am driving down the road, even when I get on it hard.

My biggest question is where do I start to remedy the problem? GPR...glow plugs....injectors,ect, to isolate the true problem? Thanks for you advice!

I posted this in another section and was told I would probably get a lot more help here.

Also, there is no lose of coolant.Oil is clear as can be. Thanks again. <!-- / message --><!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: ad_showthread_firstpost_sig --><!-- END TEMPLATE: ad_showthread_firstpost_sig -->

If you are not losing coolant, then it is likely you have an injector issue or a FICM going out.

It would be under warranty - possibly even your Emissions Warranty which is ZERO deductible for 5 yrs/100k miles.

Mine is doing the same thing. Mine is a lite white smoke then very light black from the looks of it at idle. (cold) It did it the most with the economy tune then put the aggressive tow and nothing. It came back and will do it all the time in either tune until it's warmed up.

I won't sugar coat it - it sure could affect the warranty status. It all depends on the dealership. Find one with a good reputation of working w/ the customer as well as having competent techs. My personal beliefs are to be open and honest about your mods. The techs deserve that IMO. I understand that it could come at a price .......
